I went for a nice walk this afternoon with a friend and discussed her burgeoning romance with a mutual friend. The breeze was strong enough to keep the bugs at bay, the sky virtually cloudless and the humidity draining but the conversation and company balanced it out. Plus, we walked through the woods and down by water. The sun played through the leaves and painted the trunks with shadows.
Considering how much pain we were both suffering at the time - the walk was an abysmal attempt to stretch out spasming back muscles - I'm impressed with our ability to notice our surroundings. our projected rainfall failed to materialize. I'm afraid it all went north.
Most of my family and friends in Toronto have checked in and are safe. That's all that matters.
